Back Pain
Intervertebral disc herniation is often the consequence of an injury. A slipped, or bulging, disc can be the result of a fall, accident, or lifting a heavy object. A disc is the cushiony ligament that acts as a shock absorber between each of the bones of the spine (vertebra). These discs can swell, tear, and/or rupture. Tears will eventually scar, but the area will be more prone to future injury. Whenever a disc is displaced for any reason, it is considered herniated. Other terms for this include: disc protrusion, bulged disc, ruptured disc, or slipped disc.
Disc herniation can put pressure on your spinal cord or nerves. Nerve pain can be severe and shooting and/or a deep irritation.
MVA, slip and fall, and work-related pain require treatment for recovery and pain relief. We will work directly with your attorney or insurance company to ensure that your chiropractic care expenses are paid for and you have no direct out-of-pocket expense.
